PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coin discriminating method and device capable of reliably discriminating the truth/falsehood of a coin and its denomination by preventing, with simple processing, deformation such as the separation and the connection of patterns which takes place in the case of performing binarization processing of the pictures of the front surface of the coin. SOLUTION: A pattern separating part 5 plats a preliminarily set separating line to separate a pattern with respect to a binarized picture acquired from the front surface or the rear surface of a coin binarized by a binarizing part 4. |
