PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of eliminating failure in terms of an image by setting a suitable electrifying condition for every electrifying device. SOLUTION: This image forming device is equipped with an image carrier and the electrifying device 2 for electrifying the image carrier. The device is equipped with plural electrifying devices 2, discriminates the kind of the device 2 and sets the electrifying condition suitable for the device 2. Plural kinds of electrifying devices are prepared so as to properly use the devices 2 according to a use condition or the like, and the kind of the device 2 (for example, the device equipped with an etching grid or the device equipped with a wire grid, the device whose shielding plate is coated with ozone adsorbent or the device whose shielding plate is not coated therewith, the device for black or the device for color or the like) is discriminated so as to set the electrifying condition (for example, electrifying current) suitable for the device 2, whereby the deterioration of the image carrier is prevented to eliminate the failure in terms of the image.
