PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating unit capable of efficiently and economically operating an air conditioning unit for cooling or heating and a showcase refrigerating unit by effectively combining the air conditioning unit and the showcase refrigerating unit and its operating method. SOLUTION: The refrigerating unit comprises the air conditioning unit 10 for cooling or heating having a refrigerant compressor 11, an outdoor heat exchanger 12, throttle units 16a, 16b, 13d and 16c and indoor heat exchanger 13, the showcase refrigerating unit 20 having a refrigerant compressor 21, an outdoor heat exchanger 22, a throttle unit and an in-showcase heat exchanger, a heat exchanger 41 for heat exchanging a refrigerant from the unit 10 to the unit 20 and a thermal storage tank 15 for receiving and delivering the refrigerant and the heat of the unit 10.
