PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid displaying an incorrect present position because of a map matching process executed, e.g. when an automobile enters a parking lot and enhance a general versatility by making it independent of map information to judge whether or not the automobile enters the parking lot. SOLUTION: When it is judged that conditions whereby the automobile is determined to be present in a specific section are satisfied, the map matching process is stopped. In other words, when the mobile body is determined to be in the specific section, more correct present position information can be obtained by outputting by directly displaying on a map the present position measured by a self-contained navigation unit or by the like manner. The detected result of parameters utilized by a positioning function of the navigation apparatus is used to judge whether or not the mobile body is present in the specific section. |
