PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program storage device which can continuously store a desired TV broadcast program even when a recording medium runs low on capacity while the program is stored. SOLUTION: This program storage device consists of a broadcast image storage part 201 such as a hard disk and a DVD which stores the image and voices of a TV broadcast, an image storage processing part 191 which stores the images and voices, a storage capacity management part 196 which manages the storage capacity of the part 201, an overwrite storage processing part 194 which overwrites the broadcast images on the part 201, etc. When the part 196 decides that of the part 201 runs low on capacity, the broadcast images are overwritten at a position where the broadcast images are already stored and also that is previously selected by a user.
