PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel of rifle gun or shot gun having a good loading of the cartridge into the chamber. SOLUTION: The barrel of rifle or shot gun has an opening 12a at a forcing cone contact face 11a contacting the forcing cone 31a of a cartridge case 31, and a cartridge 30 is obliquely inserted into the opening 12a from the bolt 40 downside. A chamfered guide 12b for guiding the cartridge 30 into the chamber 10 is formed on the lower edge of the opening 12a to prevent the cartridge 30 from deflecting laterally during inserting into the opening 12a, thereby improving the loading.
