PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hardly cause color slurring, to hardly scratch a photoreceptor in an image forming part and to use a wide range of material as transfer material in the case of forming a color image by a tandem type image forming device. SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer belt 20 is stretched and laid in a longitudinal direction, and a toner image of each color forming each color image is transferred to the belt 20 from the image forming parts 14, 15, 16 and 17 arranged along in an up-and-down direction, and the color toner image is transferred to the transfer material 53 in a transfer part 21. Since the respective image forming parts 14, 15, 16 and 17 have only to form the toner image on the belt 20, it can stably form the toner image. A control part 24 controls a resist roller 22 so that the transfer material 50 may be supplied to a transfer material carrying belt 13 in timing with the toner image and the toner image may be consecutively transferred by the transfer part 21. Therefore, the color image is efficiently printed on plural kinds of transfer material in a short time.
