MEMORY DATA BACKUP DEVICE FOR PORTABLE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT AND DEVICE FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic equipment memory data backup device for backing up data by predicting and anticipating data loss in the portable electronic equipment. SOLUTION: A portable electronic equipment 100 backs up data stored in a memory 110 of this portable electronic equipment 100 in response to the detection of a damaging event such as free fall. In the case of the free fall event, a sensor 120 is constituted as a three-axial accelerometer. A microprocessor 130 controls the operation of the device in response to the detection of the damaging event. A radio communication link 140 is made usable by the microprocessor so that data stored in the memory can be transmitted at the time of detecting the damaging event. The transmitted data can be stored in a non-volatile storage device 182 of a backup server 180 capable of receiving the data. Thus, it is possible to transmit the extremely significant data in the higher priority order than that of data which are not so significant.
