PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of surely preventing the generation of dust at the time of assembling and after the assembling, eliminating brightness unevenness due to the intrusion of the dust and preventing the damage due to the friction of the dust and members in a display region, such as an optical compensation sheet, by adopting the construction that a liquid crystal panel is retained by an adhering member provided at a metal casing without using a resin material which is a dust generating source as a structural body of the casing and the like. SOLUTION: A first and second metal casings 12 and 10 are disposed on upper side and a lower side of the liquid crystal panel 11, respectively, and the liquid crystal panel is adhered and fixed to the first or the second metal casing by using a double coated adhesive tape M.
