PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired valve opening timing and valve opening amount in a valve driving mechanism capable of continuously varying the valve opening timing and valve opening amount of a valve. SOLUTION: A rocker arm capable of rocking round a fixed axis is rocked to drive the valve to be opened and closed. The driving force for driving the valve to be opened and closed is generated. A rocking element rocked by the above driving force is provided. The rocking locus of the rocking element is regulated. The regulated rocking locus is variable. The valve is driven to open and close by rocking of the rocking element along the regulated rocking locus.
