PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit the opening of a cartridge loading cover caused by inadvertent operation in the midst of driving a feed motor incorporated in a camera. SOLUTION: When photographic film 45 presses a detection pin 31, a detection lever 32 is turned to a film detecting position. Since a locking arm 34 is moved to a lock release inhibiting position, the displacement of an opening/ closing operation arm 12 to a lock release position is inhibited and the cartridge loading cover 4 is not opened. When the feeding motor 47 is driven in order to rewind the film 45, a safety lock mechanism 50 acts, so that a holding lever 54a is turned to abut on an abutting part 38 and holds a film detection mechanism 30 at the film detecting position. Even when the film 45 is separated from the pin 31, the mechanism 30 is held at the film detecting position by the lever 54a, whereby the cover 4 is not opened.
