The reel (1) has two identical halves (5, 6). Each half has a circular flange (2, 3) and quasi-cylindrical hubs. The hubs are joined (10) to each other to form the drum (4), which is held together by an axial clamp rod system (21). The tapered shape of the hubs enable the two halves to be 'nested' and stacked when not in use.
