PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curved-road detector which can detect a curved road properly according to the state of a road to be run. SOLUTION: In the curved-road detector the degree of a curve in an arbitrary section is compared with the degree of a curve in the curved road as a reference, and whether the arbitrary section is steep or gentle is judged. The detector is provided with a curved-road detection part 6, for a general road which detects the curved road by a predetermined curved-road detection logic for the general road. The detector is provided with a curved-road detection part 7, for an expressway, which detects the curved road by a predetermined curved-road detection logic for the expressway. The detector is provided with a curved-road judgment part 8 which selects one from among the curved-road detection part for the general road and the curved-road detection part for the expressway on the basis of only road information obtained from a map database or on the basis of the road information and driving-operation information and which performs the processing of the detection of the curved road. |
