PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of grasping sold-out article in a sales standby mode in the automatic vending machine where an article selecting means 32 are intensively arranged outside the range of an article sample display part 24. SOLUTION: The article sample display part 24 for displaying article samples T displaying their article IDs is provided on the front of a machine body 11, and the article selecting means 32 are provided outside the area of the part 24. A sold-out detecting means for detecting the sold-out of article is provided. A sold-out displaying means 51 for displaying the article ID of the sold-out article whose sold-out is detected by the sold-out detecting means is provided. The means 51 displays the article ID of the sold-out merchandise in the sales standby mode and the sold-out article can be grasped.
