PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine shortened in the whole length of a system by reducing the number of rear trucks. SOLUTION: This shield machine 1 is provided with a machine body 2 advancing while excavating a facing to construct a tunnel 13 behind; hydraulic apparatus 9-12 provided at the machine body 2 and actuated by oil pressure; a plurality of rear trucks 18a, 18b, 18c arranged being connected in the tunnel 13 behind the machine body 2; an oil tank 21 provided at the rear truck 18a and stored with oil 20 to be sucked and discharged to the hydraulic apparatus 9-12; hydraulic pumps 24a-27a for force-feeding the oil 20 in the oil tank 21 to the hydraulic apparatus 9-12; and motors 24b-27b for driving the hydraulic pumps 24a-27a. The hydraulic pumps 24a-27a and the motors 24b-27b are accommodated in the oil tank 21 being submerged in the oil 20.
