PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a retaining wall having markedly high strength even in the case of dry masonry using no filling concrete or reinforcing bar. SOLUTION: A concrete block for construction consists of a main body block 2 and a stay block 3 formed separate and different from the main body block 2. The main body block is provided with at least a storage empty part 23 for soil and fitting parts 26, 27, and the stay block 3 is provided with a fitting part 34 fitted and fixed in the fitting parts of the main body block 2 for coursed masonry of the main body block 2. A random masonry position of the main body block 2 is shifted for random masonry of the stay block 3 to fit and fix the fitting part 34 into the fitting parts 26, 27 so as to connect the main body block 2 with the stay block 3.
