The present invention refers to a process for the production of aluminum formates, aluminum sulfites and formic acid. The application area of said products includes divers industry branches, such as, for example: during colorants etching processes for aluminum shellacs formation in textile fibers; incorporated to cosmetic and medicinal preparations for hypertension prevention and topic dermatological treatments; added as impervious agents and wrinklers for the production of special papers; during white leather treatment or preparation as tanners or tannery accelerators; as rubber latex weak coagulant; for preparation of pure aluminum oxide, etcetera. The purpose of this invention is to provide an industrial process for the production of aluminum formates totally different from that already used both in the preparative chemistry, and industry, due to the novel characteristic of using aluminum sulfites as raw material, which are easily transformable into formates of this element by direct action of formic acid and which main characteristic is to generate said products which are reactive- and sub-products-free in a minimum of unitary operations with less dilutions and reaction times than those known so far.
