An information processing system for inquiring/advertising/purchasing a commodity or information through a network wherein when a detachable storage medium having a program storage area where a program is stored and an information storage area where information is stored is connected to an information processing device such as a computer on the network, the information processing device runs on the program stored in the program storage area and sends the information on the taste of users stored in the information storage area to a service provider through the network, and the service provider advertises the commodity or information selected according to the taste of the users.
