In prior art, machines exist which process a material web (1) in a paced manner. Said machines have a compensation device (4) that takes up a respective predeterminable length of web. The web (1) is continuously fed to said device by a pair of take-up rollers (2, 3) and a predeterminable length of web is drawn from said device using a pair of take-off rollers (19, 20). According to the invention, in the machine, which is designed in particular for producing bags or similar from a web (1) of plastic film, said web (1) is guided in the compensation device (4) in the form of a slack loop (15) and the end of the compensation device (4) is formed by a vacuum belt conveyor (10), whose vacuum belts (11) are driven intermittently at the pace of the subsequent take-off rollers (19, 20). |
