The vessel (20) has provision to hold within its void a pump (21) when the vessel with the pump inside it are placed in the pond water, the pump is isolated from the water surrounding the vessel. A vertically adjustable water depth inlet spout (28) that adjoins the vessel, rises up to just below the surface of the pond (22). Water passes through the removable filter (32), enters the inlet spout through the holed wall (29) of the spout and down into the vessel. With the pump activated the filtered water is drawn through the pump and discharged through its housing outlet (35), through a connecting piece (34) that passes through the wall of the vessel and is propelled outside, allowing the pump to operate continuously in uncontaminated water and at optimum efficiency.
