The system has an x-ray source coupled to an image receiver via a yoke to enable common movement. The image receiver can be moved vertically and/or horizontally on a bearer part (9) rigidly attached to the yoke. The receiver can be displaced by plus and minus one quarter of the length of its sides. A diffusing pattern (10) is aligned with the center of the displaced image area.
