<p>The invention concerns a device (1) for operating an element, in particular a safety element, for protecting goods and/or people and in particular for protecting at least a vehicle passenger, comprising a gas generating system (3) connected to said safety element [for example a safety airbag (2)] and comprising an explosible charge (4) consisting of at least a primary pyrotechnic compound (5) and a secondary compound (6).
