Method for threading a partial paper web

The method involves separating a paper web (1), which is running in the production direction (E), into partial paper webs (16-19). One of the webs is selected for cross-perforation at an angle of 30-60 degrees to the running direction. The non-selected webs are then moved on in one running direction (B or A), and the perforated web is moved into a second running direction (A or B), whereby the partial web is separated cross-wise along the ideal separating line (68). A fixing system, e.g. a suction belt unit or suction roller, is associated with each paper web having an ideal separating line.
