PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition, improved in abrasion resistance and chip-cutting resistance, and also to provide a pneumatic tire by using the rubber composition, improved in the abrasion resistance and chip-cutting resistnace as its tread rubber. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is characterized by exhibiting >=22.0 MPa tensile strength (TB) in JIS K 6301, >=300% elongation (EB) in the JIS K 6301, >=75 hardness in the JIS K 6301 and also >=7,000 of above tensile strength (TB)×above elongation (EB).
