The machine tool (M) has suction pads (100) in contact with the surface (P) to be worked on. A number of drive arms (200) have first ends (210) and second ends (220) fitted with suction pads. Actuating the arms (200) ensures the displacement of the machine tool with respect to the ends (220) when they adhere to the working surface and the displacement of the ends (220) with respect to the machine tool when the latter adheres to the surface (P). The frame is a parallel structure formed by three pairs of arms (200) which allow the machine tool to be moved across the working surface (P). The arm ends (220) are linked to a base (300) which enables the machine tool to adhere to the working surface by its suction pads and/or the drilling/riveting operations and which limits movement with respect to the arm ends (220). The machine tool is fitted with a number of jacks (400) whose end rods (410) are fitted with suction pads. The base (300) has a number of jack (500) whose rod ends (510) are also fitted with suction pads. An Independent claim is also included for the working method associated with this equipment.
