Breaking device for a linear guide

The H-shaped cross-sectioned supporting body (2) traveling along the guide rail (1) has brake shoes (6) acting upon the two longitudinal sides of the guide rail. A wedge gate (10) has a sloping wedge surface along which roller bodies (12) are mounted. An operating piston moves parallel with the guide rail's longitudinal axis (9) in a pressurized compartment of the support body which has a thin elastically flexible bridge piece (3) and two bottom arms (4) for gripping round the guide rail. The support body has two top arms (5) forming a compartment with the bridge piece and containing the wedge gate.
