PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood flow improving agent and an external agent composition having excellent blood flow improving effect and giving little skin stimulating feeling undesirable to the human body. SOLUTION: The blood flow improving agent is composed of a methoxy- substituted phenyl alkoxyalkyl ether derivative expressed by general formula (1) [R1 is H or methoxy; X is a 2-6C alkylene; R2 is a 1-18C alkyl or a 7-24C aralkyl; and (n) is 1-5] and the external agent composition contains the compound.
