PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyclododecanone and cyclododecanol, by which the objective mixture of the cyclododecanone with the cyclododecanol can be produced from an epoxycylododecane compound in a high yield without deteriorating the activity of a catalyst for a long time. SOLUTION: This method for producing cyclododecanone and cyclododecanol, characterized by reacting the epoxycylododecane compound with hydrogen in the presence of a solid catalyst obtained by carrying (a) a platinum group metal and, if desired, (b) at least one kind of the second compound metal selected from the group consisting of the elements of the groups VIII, Ib, IIb, IIIb, IVb, Vb, VIb, and VIIb and lanthanoid elements on a carrier, wherein the compound elements are carried on the surface layer of the carrier.
