PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and convenient ashtray capable of safely and completely extinguishing cigarette fire by using water while leaving the cigarette end in a dry state. SOLUTION: This safety ashtray is provided by installing a fire extinguishing pot (2) to the ashtray body (1) of an ashtray and overlapping a cigarette butt holder (4) which is an another body having an cigarette inserting port (3) which is opened at a corresponding spot.
