PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the opening rate of a photodetector in a high dignity solid-state image pickup device. SOLUTION: In a solid-state image pickup device, an image pickup part 1 formed of shift registers 5 installed in accordance with the respective strings of plural photodetectors 4 arranged in a matrix shape is installed, and wirings 21 for shunt/light shielding which are connected to the transfer electrodes 9 of the shift registers 5 are formed on the shift registers 5. Only a high melting point metallic layer 23 among the wrings 21 for shunt/light shielding has an extension part 23a astride the photodetector.
