PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of smoothly moving a float with a simple structure in the vertical direction without inclination thereof. SOLUTION: A magnet 35 is disposed on an upper end of a shaft 32 of the float 30 vertically movable in an interlocking manner with the water level, and a lid body 22 is fixed to a passing opening 24 formed in the shaft 32 through a switch holder 50. When there is no water and the float 30 is the lowest level, the magnet 35 is placed on the switch holder 50 and a reed switch is turned on. When the float 30 rises inside a cylindrical guide 24 as the water level rises, a large inclination or rotation is regulated by the switch holder 50, and the float rises nearly straight. When the magnet 35 is separated from the reed switch 51 by a predetermined distance, the reed switch 51 is turned off, and the reach to the washing water level is thus detected.
