PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aliphatic polyester resin which has a practically sufficiently high mol.wt., high hydrolysis resistance and high heat resistance, and to provide a formed article such as a fiber or film. SOLUTION: This aliphatic polyester resin characterized in that the carboxy groups of an aliphatic polyester are partially or substantially wholly sealed with one or more kinds of compounds selected from oxazoline compounds and oxazine compounds. Polylactic acid is preferably used as the aliphatic polyester.
