CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for producing a cast slab excellent in a hydrogen induced cracking resistance and low temperature toughness by developing fine equiaxial crystals having <=1 mm grain diameter at the center part in the cast slab to prevent center segregation. SOLUTION: Molten steel containing 0.0005-0.005 mass % Mg and satisfying the range of 0.3-2.5 of Ca/O of Ca content (mass %) to content (mass %) is poured into a mold, and the molten steel in the mold is horizontally swirled.
