PURPOSE: A kit for inspecting microorganisms is provided, thereby easily and rapidly inspecting microorganisms, particularly, bacteria causing food-poisoning. CONSTITUTION: The kit for inspecting microorganisms is composed of a transparent vessel having a hand shaped surface or a hand shape design in an oval; a transparent cover with the same material as the vessel; and a selective medium being coated on the bottom of the vessel to inspect the presence of bacteria when a person imprints the palm on the hand shaped selective medium, in which the selective medium contains 7.0 to 9.0 wt.% of NaCl, 0.7 to 1.0 wt.% of D-mannitol, and 0.001 to 0.003 wt.% of phenol red, or alternatively contain 7.0 to 1.5 wt.% of NaCl, 0.7 to 1.2 wt.% of lactose, 0.1 to 0.3 wt.% of bile salts, 0.001 to 0.005 wt.% of neutral red, 0.00005 to 0.00002 wt.% of crystal violet, and 1.4 to 2.4 wt.% of agar. The selective medium may further contain 0.05 to 6 wt.% of polyacrylamide.
