PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic plate material for side weir with which molten stainless steel can continuously be cast for long time. SOLUTION: The ceramic plate material for twin roll type continuous casting side weir, is the ceramic plate containing >=9 mass % Al-conversion content and >=120 MPa bending strength at a room temperature, >=65 MPa bending strength at 1000 deg.C, 50-350 hardness (Hv), >=1 MPa×m1/2 breaking toughness KIC at 1000 deg.C, <=8 W/(m×k) heat conductivity at the room temperature -1000 deg.C, >=800 W/m heat shock resistance index (R'), and >=120 deg.C wettability with the molten steel (contacting angle θ). This component composition contains, by mass %, 5-20% BN, >15% to 40% AIN and 40-80% Si3N4. |
