PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof that eliminate a defect in a quality inspection of a substrate for forming an electrode in a manufacturing process, as well as improves brightness. SOLUTION: On a display area 2 of a glass substrate 1, plural transparent electrodes 6a and 6ab that are positioned in parallel, are formed. On then, linear bus electrodes 4a and 4b are formed along the transparent electrodes. Both ends of the bus electrodes 4a and 4b are connected to square checking terminals 10a and 10b in the outer portion of the display area 2. One end of the bus electrode 4a is connected to the checking terminal 10a, further, connected to a terminal connecting portion 5 that is connected to an outer driving circuit through an extracting portion 7a, while the other end is connected to a checking terminal 10b in the outside of the display area. A length L of the one side of the checking terminals 10a and 10b and the line width of the extracting portions 7a and 7b are larger than the line width for the bus electrodes 4a and 4b, e.g. 100μm.
