PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paper for book having excellent image suitability and runnability on both sides of the paper when using an electrophotographic printer, excellent in processability in cutting of paper after printing and in a processing process of bookbinding. SOLUTION: This paper for books has 10 wt.% to 20 wt.% filler content, >=85% paper opacity, >=40 second smoothness, 3% to 6% water content in paper after papermaking, 1010Ωto 1012Ωelectric resistance of paper surface and <=3 second half-value period of charged voltage of paper surface.
