PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently deviate the peak position of temperature distribution from the center of a spot of laser beam for reproduction in the case of adopting a reproducing manner in which the recorded information of the information recording layer of an optical recording medium is detected in such a condition as to deviate the peak position of temperature distribution from the center of the spot on the medium toward the backside of the spot in its scanning direction in the spot and to moderate sensitivity and to improve input power margin in the case of adopting a similar reproducing manner by making temperature distribution gentle in a spot of laser beam for reproduction. SOLUTION: The objective optical recording medium with an information recording layer 3 has a heat controlling film having a heat conductivity nearly equal to or lower than that of the layer 3 or an isometric specific heat nearly equal to or larger than that of the layer 3 on one side of the layer 3 opposite to the side on which laser bema L for reproduction is incident.
