PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stator for a small-sized rotating electric machine which suppresses the unbalance of current to be caused to flow in the winding of each phase. SOLUTION: Each of windings 11, 12, 13 of a first phase to a third phase has crossover portions 11b, 12b, 13b which stretch out from slots 6 on one side to the end surfaces of the stator core 5 outside the slots, stretch in the circumferential direction along the end surfaces of the stator core 5 keeping their radial positions, and enter slots 6 on the other side. These crossover portions 11b, 12b, 13b are arranged in the circumferential direction into two layers side by side on the end surfaces of the stator core 5, and constitute groups 10a, 10b of coil ends.
