PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the appearance of a tape cassette and to improve the operability concerning the tape cassette. SOLUTION: A see-through part 17 arranged at the arranging hole 11 of a cassette shell 2, a part to be fitted 18 extended from the periphery of the see-through part to be fitted to the inner opening edge of the arranging hole and at least two positioning projecting parts 19, 19 projecting from the part to be fixed are provided at a viewing window 16 to insert the positioning projecting parts to the cassette shell. Positioning parts 14 having surrounding surfaces 15 opposing the peripheral surfaces of the positioning projecting parts are formed. The see-through part of the viewing window is formed so as to have the first clearance A prescribed in advance between its outer peripheral surface and the peripheral surface of the arranging hole. The positioning projecting parts of the see-through window is formed so as to have the second clearance B prescribed in advance between its peripheral surface and a surrounding surface. The first clearance is made to be larger than the second clearance.
