The rock breaker comprises a body (2) containing a piston (6) driven by an incompressible pressurized fluid. The body contains part of a tool (4) which is guided in a wear sleeve. The end of the tool inside the body is subjected to repeated impacts of the piston whilst the other end outside the body is supported on the rock to be destroyed. The tool is held in the body by at least one transverse key (13). The key passes through aligned holes in the body into the wear sleeve and overlaps the inner cylindrical space of the sleeve. The tool has a transverse groove (12) for the key to pass through.
