摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix type liquid crystal display device which can be improved in display quality by suppressing small the difference between the parasitic capacitance between a video signal line and a display pixel electrode having wide overlap width and the parasitic capacitance between a video signal line and a display pixel electrode having narrow overlap width. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with video signal lines and scanning lines which are arranged in matrix, display pixel electrodes which are arranged nearby their intersection parts and applied with signal voltages of the video signal lines through switching elements brought under ON/OFF control with scanning voltages of the scanning lines, and auxiliary capacitance lines which are electrically connected to the display pixel electrodes and form auxiliary capacitance of the display pixel electrodes respectively, and a display pixel electrode provided between a couple of adjacent video signal lines uses a video signal line as a light shield body by putting respective side edge parts over side edge parts of respective video signal lines and the width of overlapping with one video signal line is made wider than the width of overlapping with the other video signal line, which is connected to the corresponding display pixel electrode through a switching element.</p>
