A drawer is intended to be mounted in a wall so that it may be opened from either end. A fastening is provided to restrict the opening so that, when the fastening has been set to allow movement in one particular direction, this movement triggers the fastening so that return to the closed position engages the fastening to forbid further opening in this direction. The fastening can be manually reset from inside. As shown pivoted bolt 31 is gravity biased by iron weight 34 to engage abutment 22 to prevent opening to the left. Depressing end 33 causes the weight 34 to be held by magnet 35 so that the drawer may move leftwards. This causes end 33 to be lifted by edge 36 thus breaking the magnetic attraction and setting the bolt to engage stop 22 when the drawer is shut again. The fastening is located at the "inside" end 13 of the drawer. An additional fastening bolt 40 may be used to prevent motion to the right: stops prevent complete removal of the drawer. <IMAGE> |
