PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lock member of a lock mechanism from being caught between a rotor member and a housing member when a phase is changed from an initial phase to a target advance value. SOLUTION: In this valve opening/closing timing controller, a hydraulic control state of a hydraulic circuit is switched over from an initial hydraulic control condition (duty value 0%) in which the initial phase can be held and locking by the lock mechanism is possible to a hydraulic control state (a state changed from (5) region to (3) region) in which a phase can be changed from a hydraulic control state ((2), (3) or (4) regions) in which the controller can be held to the initial phase and the lock mechanism can be unlocked to the target advance value through set time t1 when the phase is changed from the initial phase (most lag phase) to the target advance value. |
