PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel capable of preventing a mal-function of discharging in writing through an irregular alignment, and following mal-function for a maintenance discharge, as well as achieving a high quality of an image. SOLUTION: Aplasma display panel is equipped with the scanning electrodes that pose in a face-to-face with an edge portion through intervening a discharge gap g, and a display electrode composed of an electrode for maintenance. A length Wx for a horizontal direction of the edge portion of the electrode for scanning that performs a write discharge, is formed larger than a length Wx of a horizontal direction of an electrode for the maintenance.
