PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for drying a film, etc., by reducing the size of a drier, decreasing an occupancy area and an occupancy space, reducing a manufacturing cost, and improving production efficiency. SOLUTION: In a method for drying both the front face and the back face of a film-form substance, a device comprises a pair of clip chains positioned opposite to each other with the approximate width of the film-form substance provided therebetween and guiding the film-form substance in a longitudinal direction through a sprocket; and clips mounted such that a film-form substance grasping surface by a plurality of upper and lower claws are situated on a clip chain movement central line, and the film-form substance having two end parts in the direction of width being grasped by the clips is folded alternately to the front face side and the back face side and guided in a longitudinal direction.
