PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of machining a prefabricated cable for a telephone, allowing previous machining such as branching treatment without producing unnecessary cable debris. SOLUTION: A plurality of telephone cables 1 which have a preset number of branching portions 2 previously provided at preset spaces (d) from the upper ends to the lower parts are put together so that the branch portions 2 of the telephone cables 1 are arranged at the preset spaces (d), and fixed to a suspension wire 3 to be annexed thereto with a clamp 4 while being properly loosened.
