PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the waiting power and improve the conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: This switching power supply comprises a first converter circuit 5 for converting a voltage by switching an input voltage VR, a second converter circuit 6 for generating an output voltage VDC by switching a DC voltage VUV generated with the first converter circuit 5, a first and a second control circuits 11, 12 for respectively controlling the switching of the first and second converter circuits 5, 6, a drive circuit 3 for supplying an input voltage VR to both control circuits 11, 12, an auxiliary power supply circuit 14 for generating the auxiliary power source VS for operation of both converter circuits 5, 6 when the second converter circuit 6 operates, and a remote control circuit 15 which allows, in the remote ON condition, supply of the input voltage VR to the first control circuit 11 and auxiliary power source VS for operation and stops, in the remote off condition, supply of the input voltage VR to the first control circuit 11 and auxiliary power source VS for operation.
