PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a plasma display panel in which no warping of a supplement barrier rib, disconnection of the barrier rib nor dislocation of the barrier rib at the crossing point between the barrier rib and a terminal of a longitudinal direction of the supplement barrier occur, and a plasma display panel in which such a defect as non-light, a cross-talk or the like is excluded, as well as a higher quality and a higher brightness is attained. SOLUTION: The material for a plasma display is composed of, at least, a barrier rib and a supplement barrier rib formed in a perpendicular direction of the barrier rib on a substrate. A width A of the barrier rib and a width B of a terminal portion of a longitudinal direction of the supplement barrier rib satisfies the following relation. 0.5×A<=B<=2×A The said material for the plasma display is used for a rear face substrate for a plasma display.
