A temporary depositing box system in which a temporary depositing box can be unlocked by using a mobile telephone easily, the place where the temporary depositing box is installed, use-by-the-time charge reception/shipping information and vacancy of the temporary depositing box are readily known by using the Internet, and the use of the temporary depositing box can be charged through the telephone number of the mobile telephone. A mobile telephone (1) capable of using the Internet is used to transmit the telephone number thereof as ID information to a control unit (4) of a temporary depositing box (2). The control unit (4) drives a locking mechanism (8), when it receives the telephone number and confirms the authentication and unlocks the temporary depositing box (2).
